Among the many talents given by God, Paulinians can be proud of their gift in mathematics and science. Proven by the many winnings and awards they earned in local and even international competitions, Paulinians with this talent ought to develop and share it to other students.
The Mathematics and Science Excellence Program (MSEP) is created realizing that there are Paulinians who need special and advanced approach in learning math and science and at the same time a way of also engaging students with the potential to excel in the mentioned fields to explore them in an enriching manner.
The MSEP is an off-shoot of the “Pull-Out” program of the Grade School Department and the “Dugtong-Dunong” program of the High School Department. Creating the MSEP is an effort from both departments to unify their systems and procedure all geared towards facilitating the transition of students from grade VII to 1st year high school.
I. Rationale
The MSEP is basically created on the following thrusts:
- a concrete answer to the call of the government to uplift the quality of math and science education in the Philippines;
- a concrete move by St. Paul College Pasig to tap the potentials of exceptional students in math and science;
- promote science and mathematics as career options for students;
- promote creative and functional work in the fields of science and mathematics
